Our Ethos
At Solvino, our ethos is simple: wine is art—a beautiful expression of nature. Yet, in today’s overly commercialized world, it’s easy to lose sight of this. For the average consumer, wine buying has become overwhelming, dominated by big brands that ensure their products fill every shelf. But think about it—how is that even possible? Wine is an agricultural product, crafted by farmers who work the land, hand-harvest grapes, and meticulously guide them into the nectar we cherish. The finest vineyards produce only thousands of bottles a year, and that’s if the weather cooperates.
When you see the same wine in every grocery Bottle Shop, liquor shop, and chain, you have to wonder how it’s being produced at such massive volumes. Wine isn’t a mass-produced soft drink—it’s a living, breathing product of the earth. At Solvino, we celebrate the true artists of the wine world: farmers who attribute their grapes’ flavors to the “terroir” and view their vineyards as an extension of their family legacy, working hand-in-hand with world-class winemakers whose passion is for craft, not corporate profits.
While this may be a generalization, we fully acknowledge that some of the best wines in the world are highly profitable or owned by large corporations—but they remain true to their mission of producing exceptional wine without compromising quality or integrity. Let us help you find the difference.
Wine is not about trying to decipher elusive aromas while pompously discussing “notes of terroir, blackberries, and butterflies in an autumn breeze.” It’s about the personal experience and the joy each sip brings. The opinions of raters and self-proclaimed wine experts shouldn’t diminish your appreciation for the beauty you can discover on your own. At Solvino, we encourage you to explore, savor, and find your own connections with the wines you enjoy—because every bottle tells a story, and your interpretation is what truly matters.

We cut through the noise and fill our shelves as we would a personal cellar.
Only with wines that represent the best of their kind, and many that you won’t find anywhere else. We do the hard work so you can relax and enjoy. Fine and Rare is our calling.

Our “Experts”
Since most wine raters are nonsense, we have created a fun way to navigate wine.

Wines that stick to their traditional styles in terms of regions and grapes are where I find the most enjoyment in wine. The sky is always blue, just as red Burgundy is always Pinot Noir.

The frills of method, scarcity or prestige typically add to the price tag of a bottle, which are not important to me as I try to maximize the quality to cost ratio of every experience.

Wines that have the ability to impress but not steal the show are what drive my choices, they have to be delicious but not overwhelming.
It will leave your guests talking about the wine the next day, even if they don’t pause to appreciate every sip in the moment.

Once the quality of the wine has been assessed, I am lured in by the thought and effort that goes into the label.
It shows an attention to a minor detail in the wine process that can be aesthetically pleasing while you are sipping away.

Wine goes well beyond the bottle, it allows us to learn about the world in ways that we would have never considered if it wasn’t for this liquid tour guide.
I enjoy exploring wines off the beaten path, enjoying sips while thinking of the adventures they may take me.

Bottles that have a story to tell about the history, vineyard, and cultural traditions that shape the wine's production are what drive my choices.

While I do not buy brand names for the sake of it, there are certain bottles where their reputations precede them.
They are not the easiest to find, but also not impossible when you keep your eye out and enjoy.

While the bottles I look for don’t have a horn, they are almost as rare as finding a mythical animal.
You hear stories of their existence and when you have an opportunity to catch one you don’t have time to think twice.
